71ST SESSION OF THE UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visited New York from September 18 to 24 to attend the 71st Session of the United Nations General Assembly. During his visit, the Prime Minister delivered an address at the General Assembly and attended a high-level meeting of the UN Security Council on Syria. He also attended Taste of Japan, a reception showcasing washoku (Japanese cuisine), held at Carnegie Hall. In his speech at the reception, Prime Minister Abe stated that this year is the 60th anniversary of Japan’s membership in the United Nations and that he wants to deepen exchange through washoku.
